In 1930 there were several schools of lace in Burano, one of which was directed by Mrs. Erminia Costantini called "Mora Boccolo", great-grandmother of the current owner of the company Lidia meletti d’arte, Davide Bressanello.

In that year, "Mora Boccolo", for the wedding of his daughter Augustina Bressanello that she would marry soon, he wanted to create with the lace of his school a wedding dress and a trousseau consisting of sheets, bedspreads, curtains and tablecloths . Of course, all the work would be done in Burano lace but, given the time and effort required for its implementation, he decided to involve other lace schools, arguing huge sum.

During the war, the work of the family school and all other schools of Burano lace is greatly reduced, because the lace makers were forced to work by candlelight; Augustina decided to sell her wedding dress to pay the lacemakers.

A fire, probably caused by the  candles used by the lacemakers, hit the Lace School of Burano straight from the nuns and most of the designs of lace ended up burned.

Upon returning from the war, the son of "Mora Boccolo", said Mario Bressanello "Boccolo", married his girlfriend ever, Lidia Vio called "Battelétto" and decided to carry on her mother's work."Boccolo" inserted new lacemakers in the family school and began making his own designs of lace without reliance on external designers, with the exception of Mr. Emilio D'Este, designer of Burano Lace School, from which he bought all the drawings escaped the fire."Boccolo" so he decided to open in fact the first Burano lace shop in the all island, called Dalla Lidia merletti d’arte in honor of his beloved; exposing a wide range of laces, he designed and not commissioned.

With the entry in the family of his son Luigi Bressanello said "Leon", and the daughter-in-law Paola Toselli called "Forner", the showroom develops exponentially. The daughter-in-law alongside Mario Bressanello in the development of new designs, in the selection of new lace and lacemakers, performing herself all points of Burano lace, even those long forgotten. Luigi, however, thanks to the closure of Burano Lace School, decided to open to the public its own collection of antique lace and expand over the years by selecting French lace, Belgian, British, Russians, creating the most famous museum in the world.

He also agreed to find the wedding dress of Augustina aunt and, after fruitless searches, he managed to gain possession in 1980.
